Poll: Best HD sporting event this month?

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

This is one of my top posts ive read today! Read about it:
Yeah we know March has laid claim to the Madness title, but for such a short month the sports lineup for February is out of control. Kicking off with Winter X Games 14 this weekend and leading into the Super Bowl, Daytona 500 and Winter Olympics there’s more than enough reasons for us to stay inside and out of the cold than ever. So which event are you most excited to see?

Friday, January 29th, 2010

This is one of my top posts ive read today! Read about it:
Michael Jackson’s This Is It

These Blu Ray write-ups always seem to feature one prominently dead guy, don’t they? I’m cursed.

Surrogates

Bruce Willis movie, based on the Top Shelf comic book.  Did you ever think you would read such a sentence?

Atonement

Pride & Prejudice

Chick flics?  Check and check.

Fame

The Blu Ray is an “extended dance edition.”  Oooh…

Saw VI

Do they ship one of these sequels every week now?

Whip It

Drew Barrymore directs, “Juno” stars.

Paris, Texas (Criterion Collection)

It’s Criterion, so I’m supposed to love it, right?  I have the Criterion DVD release of “House of Games.” Really need to get to that someday.  Haven’t watched it in years, and then it was in the standard release.

Mitsubishi to introduce preposterously large 149-inch OLED TV at ISE 2010

Friday, January 29th, 2010

This is one of my top posts ive read today! Read about it:
Yeah, you can snag a TV larger than this, but good luck finding a 150-inch set with an OLED panel. In a presumed effort to quietly exert superiority over those “other guys,” Mitsubishi is purportedly planning to unveil a 149-inch OLED TV at ISE 2010, which kicks off in earnest next week — though, we have to say, we sure hope it’s not one of those modular units that we saw at CEATEC. Unfortunately, the native resolution of just 1,088 x 640 is downright boring, but we’re forcing ourselves to focus on the positives here. Essentially, something like this wouldn’t have much use outside the world of digital signage, but man, talk about making an impact on to-be customers. So, Mitsu — when’s the 1080p 4K version coming out?

Moxi Mate users should be enjoying Live TV streaming as well as new GUI tweaks regarding used storage space and series recording defaults now that the update announced last November has finally arrived. Could we suggest a few more changes? Sure, but for now these will have to do.
[Thanks, Lee & Bob]
