Mitsubishi creates giant curved OLED, probably won’t fit in your living room (video)
Friday, February 4th, 2011Display companies like Mitsubishi still don’t make a big-screen OLED we can buy, yet look at this, a curved display created by the company that looks to be about four feet tall and maybe 10 feet around. Okay, so a 3mm pixel pitch wouldn’t look too great standing anywhere within about 20 feet of the thing, but that’s why it’s designed for malls and big stores, places where its 1,200 nit brightness can shrug off ambient light. It was unveiled at ISE 2011 and there’s a video of it doing its thing after the break, but surely it won’t be long before they’re all over Las Vegas.

Logitech Delivers Google TV to Living Rooms

Logitech unveiled Logitech Revue with Google TV, a compact, plug-and-play companion box with its Logitech Keyboard Controller, which together provide control over the Google TV experience and home-entertainment devices. The company’s portfolio of products for Google TV also includes the Logitech TV Cam and Vid HD service for HD video calling, Mini Controller as well as other applications designed for the Google TV platform.

Surround 3-D TV to Take Over the Living Rooms

For the first time, a team of researchers at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2), have designed a 9-panel, 3-D visualization display from HDTV LCD flat-screens developed by JVC.
The NexCAVE‘s technology delivers a faithful, deep 3-D experience with great color saturation, contrast and really good stereo separation – claim the scientists.
